October 2024

This content update includes revisions to 6 sections of model content, along with the retirement of one policy (11006 – Receipt of Notice of Dispute of Accuracy of Information). Additional updates were made related to the NACHA ACH changes that became effective on October 1, 2024. These amendments, along with additional policy enhancements, are incorporated in Model Policies 2611: ACH Operations and Management and 2612: ACH Audit.

May 2024

In the May 2024 content update, 18 policies were revised, two new procedure/resources were added, and one policy was retired. In addition, a new Fraud Awareness Document was created to use with Policy 2245 Elder and/or Vulnerable Adult Protections. This update focused on the NCUA Supervisory Priorities for 2024, CFPB’s final rule on credit card penalty fees, and  two final rules impacting the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).

January 2024

This update contains 15 policy updates, many in response to annual threshold changes related to Regulation Z, consumer leasing, HSA Savings Account Contribution limits, HMDA asset size exemptions, and Regulation D reserve requirements. In addition, two new model procedures (Beneficial Ownership Information Access Procedures and Reconsideration of Value Procedures) were created.

May 2024

The RecoveryPro update included the development of comprehensive Cyber Incident content and updates to 5 existing content sections. The new content was developed in response to the NCUA’s increased focus on cyber events and Business Continuity Planning (BCP) to ensure the safety and stability of credit unions in the face of evolving cyber threats.

November 2024

Several sections of the Cyber Incident Response content had minor updates due to recent examiner feedback. One new section (1663: NCUA Guidance – SAR Reporting in a Cyber Incident) was added to the Model BCP.

Next Steps for your Credit Union

Using the Content Overview document as a guide along with the redlined documents related to the update, review the changes for each policy, and for each section of content decide if you want to:

  1. Do nothing and leave your content as-is (usually only if the update does not apply to your credit union, or you are not currently using the content).

  2. Remove the custom customized version of the content and import the updated model content in its entirety.

  3. Use the redlined version as a guide and manually incorporate the updates into the customized version.
